NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – November 6, 2008 – H. Hendy Associates (HHA), one of the nation’s leading interior architectural design firms, has completed a commercial interior redesign project for Dolinka Group, LLC, a public finance and facilities planning consulting firm providing services to clients throughout California.

H. Hendy Associates was retained by Dolinka Group to transform a 16,154-square-foot office space into a contemporary, collaborative work environment designed to bridge two areas of operation within the company.

“We knew from the onset that the company would be better served by opening up areas previously behind closed doors and implementing opaque and airy design elements to foster open communication,” said H. Hendy Associates’ senior designer Felicia Hyde. “The final result captured a warm, clean, conservative look, but still has that much-needed ‘wow’ factor.”

One of the primary elements of the design was a “gallery,” which was used to meld together the reception area with the workspace. This would serve as a transitional element to bridge a more conservative reception area featuring custom signage, wood flooring and a custom reception desk with stone to a more playful workspace with an open coffee bar, multi-striped carpeting and contemporary-style cabinetry, and red accent light fixtures.

The design also increased the functionality and flexibility of the space, reducing the amount of offices to create more workstations. Additionally, panel heights on each workstation were lowered to facilitate a more collaborative environment and the lunchroom was opened up and combined with the training room to allow for a more versatile, multi-use space.

Located in the 15-story high-rise building at 20 Pacifica in Irvine, Calif., Dolinka Group’s corporate office houses 52 employees.
